| Pakistan: UAF Exhibition: Organic vegetables, flowers attract visitors Source: tribune.com.pk FAISALABAD: Several different types of flowers and organic vegetable are on display at a two-day flower exhibition that opened at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, on Monday. The exhibition is organised by the Institute of Horticultural Sciences (IHS) and Pakistan Society of Horticultural Sciences. It was inaugurated by the UAF vice chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan. IHS Director Prof Dr Muhammad Amjad Aulak is supervising the exhibition while Dr Atif Riaz is the coordinator of the event. They said the university had been organising flower exhibition twice a year for several years. They said these exhibitions were meant to provide a platform to UAF students to display their skills. The exhibition also featured hena and artificial gold jewellery stalls that attracted a large number of women visitors. Ayub Research Centre and Sitara Chemicals also arranged stalls at the exhibition where they displayed their latest products. Students said they had been preparing for the event for over a week. They said with such events people could be encouraged to plant more trees and adopt environment friendly practices.
