| UK: Liverpool skincare company Tru Organics looks at overseas markets Source: liverpooldailypost.co.uk A LIVERPOOL firm offering natural and organic skin products is reporting interest from across the world. Tru Organics was started in 2009 by directors Tina Carroll and Ruth Andrew. From their city centre base, Ms Carroll and Ms Andrew hand-make a range of skincare products. All are made using natural and organic, “ethically-produced” ingredients, with none tested on animals. For the past year, they have been out and about in the North West at fairs and other events, doing market research to find out the public reaction to the range. They have managed to build up a dedicated clientele, but now feel that 2012 is the year when they start to realise their full commercial potential. They have now made contact with potential customers in other parts of the world through the Government’s export assistance arm, UK Trade & Investment (UKTI). Ms Carroll said: “We know we are in a very competitive market but the customers we have had so far have been very honest and, as yet, we have had no negative feedback. “We have been talking to UKTI and already we have had interest from China, Germany, Japan and other parts of Asia. “In Asia, they are looking to buy quality products and they love stuff from Britain. “We have been asked to do research into skincare products for Japan, where the climate is very dry. “Yes, we would love to grow sales in the UK as well, but it is the overseas markets that have approached us.” Ms Carroll originally ran a practice offering holistic therapies in Slater Street, later moving to Duke Street. Ms Andrew first came to her as a client, and the two hit it off and then trained together in producing skincare products. They eventually decided to go into business together, taking premises in Rodney Street. Ms Andrew says they want the business to be about more than just selling products. “We want to be a valuable source of information either on our own site or via links through to other sites,” she said. “We want to be as open and clear with people as we possibly can be.” Ms Carroll added: “We have been using the time since we launched the company to get the products out into circulation and see what people really thought of them. “Our aim is to be both quality and customer-focused and this year we want to focus on pushing sales. Franchising is possible in the future, too. It is something we will investigate because it would be great to offer employment opportunities to other people.” More information: http://www.truorganics.co.uk/ Tip: OrganicPortal UK - Organic Cosmetics 09.01.2012 TOP 3 most read news: 10 Organic Diet Secrets of the Stars Besuchen Sie OrganicPortal Newsroom Deutschland
